I saw Venus Mercury and Jupiter ^^

December 31st 2008, when 4 planets came out although you could only see 3 visibly with bare eyes.. the 4th (neptune) would have been only visible through a telescope.

Finally saw Neptune tonight. It is directly above Jupiter. I centered jupiter in the telescope, then using the slow motion controls, move up slowly. Very small, very faint dot, but able to make out the spherical shape.

Jupiter is easy to spot - 11 months of the year it's the brightest "star" in the sky (the north star is directly central of the northern hemisphere.. I used Google Sky Maps android app - It shown me Orions Belt - I actually saw all the stars in the right position, I moved to the upper-left and saw a bright star - looked on my phone and it was highlighted directly over Jupiter (I was pointing my phone at the sky and the map "moved" with the phone) - amazing sight xD

It's easy to see Venus and Jupiter. The challenge is spotting mercury :\
