Although traditional Kemetic texts rarely reference the word "love", the concept is inherent throughout the many lessons contained within. In Medu Neter, the word for love is "mer", and is symbolized by a plow, which represents labor and the necessity of cultivation - ideas that modern society rarely associate with love. Hem Neter Ra Sankhu Kheper provides students and initiates of the Kemetic tradition with a Maatic framework by which to innerstand the complex relationship between discipline and love. Through the application of the wisdom presented here, we can transcend our westernized notions about love and evolve into worthy heirs of our righteous legacy.
