A http://www.screensurgeons.com production. Step by step instructions to replace a cracked LCD screen on a HP dv6-6000 notebook computer. This procedure will work for all dv6 laptops that have a number in the 6000s after the dv6.

  • I just got a dv6-6117dx and want to replace the screen with a 1080p one. Would I have to find one with the same connectors? Where would I find one and would the video card support this resolution?

  • @SH3player I havent had luck doing the full HD upgrade on this model. The image looks interlaced. Not sure what the problem is.

  • On the HP 6555b, it appears that the final screws holding the screen into the frame are actually small rivets? I may just need more light on it to see clearly. I have 2 of these, trying to swap one busted screen for the good one.

  • @pepperheadfarms Can you please email me a photo.

  • Hi! Does the webcam remain untouched during the process (will it still work)? Also, do you need glue or something to put the rubber covers and the bezel back?

  • @mamboule the webcam cable may stick to the back of the screen, you may need to lift it off. No, you just put the rubber covers back on.

  • This doesn't have much to do with the video, but my webcam isn't working right now and I just wana check if it's connected wrong or anything. Do you know if I could check the connector thought this method? Or does the webcam cable go behind the platform BEHIND the actual screen?

  • Good video quality, easy to understand replacement procedure, I hope I won't need to replace my dv6 screen though :-) Thanks anyway!

  • @ScreenSurgeons well that sucks.....thanks for video though.

  • Thanks for the info.. good video..
