Imaginary Jesus is an hilarious, fast-paced, not-quite-fictional story thats unlike anything youve ever read before. When Matt Mikalatos realizes that his longtime buddy in the robe and sandals isnt the real Jesus at all, but an imaginary one, he embarks on a mission to find the real thing. On his wild ride through time, space, and Portland, Oregon, he encounters hundreds of other Imaginary Jesuses determined to stand in his way (like Legalistic Jesus, Perpetually Angry Jesus, and Magic 8 Ball Jesus). But Matt wont stop until he finds the real Jesus—and finally gets an answer to the question thats haunted him for years. Be warned: Imaginary Jesus may bring you face-to-face with an imposter in your own life.

I think its pretty original. Ann Rice's books on Jesus are really good and really off the beaten path of traditional interpretations, yet her conversion to a saving faith, albeit for some, a catholic one, is genuine ,and it shows. If you mesh together well in the actual reading to this book trailer, which may be common an idea for some, but not for me, then you really have something equivalent to its 'secular' counterparts, in terms of quality.... good luck outing the impostor....

Is that how you pronounce your last name? 'Mik-a-la-TOS'. I have always said 'Mik-a-LA-tus'. Learn something new every day.

I haven't read "Your God Is Too Small" but you're the third person to say that IJ and this book are similar in some way.
And I agree with you about most Christian writing. I'm more of a Gene Wolfe/Vonnegut fan myself.

I loved the book and love the trailer! I will be posting my review tomorrow on my blog - Ponderings by Andrea - and will definitely be including this trailer with it!

uhm.... Imaginary Jesus kinda reminds me of Your God is too Small. But looks more fun. Can't say I'm a real lover of Christian humor or even Christian nonfiction -- especially when they say they're "different" and "unique"-- but I'd be willing to give this a try. Hope his book does well. I'm sure it'll be a blessing and an eye-opener for many Christians. Thanks for uploading the trailer.
