The precedent comments come from Fransisco d'Anconia's speech about the nobility of money by Ayn Rand. It explains the nature of money and that money is the root of all good.

i don't believe in any prophecy whatever, (aside from the banal: the sun will go down tonight) because the complexity and speed of all the elements making up the universe are way beyond anything but immediate, local prediction.

Are you not able to see that the stories were written to fulfill the "prophecies" - it even says as much in the book! It is childishly obvious.

I don't know how people can think about that and give it credit. Sorry!

@JamesJon1187 You gave good reason why you think the scriptures are true. I believe they are the result of primitive myth-spreading and wish-fulfilling. (Prophecy-fulfilling)

I didn't get your point about "sorcery" - I am classing all miracles as sorcery and magic, without distinction between the words. (I know there is a difference, but in my context - in that I don't believe in any of them - they are the same)

A despicable thing about religion is that people have always killed and died for it.
