well considering the mopar is a big block with about 4 grand more in the motor than the small block and the car is strip only vs a street car and only beats him by 6/10's of a sec you can do the math. and the chevy jumped him out of the hole pretty good.

Not everyone can afford to build a bigblock mopar which is why you see so many sbc in them.

I own the challenger, I built the car. It is not street legal, nor is the Plymouth. The challenger has a 440/493 stroker with iron heads, the plymouth has canted valve aluminum heads. Both cars are pretty quick considering how heavy they are. I spent $4400 building the engine with all new stuff except block and heads. The challenger does have street legal tires, however, the plymouth has drag slicks with screws thru the sides! I have read the debates here and I love it!

No, the big block Mopar probably doesn't have 4K more in it than the SBC. Keep in mind he's probably got 400 more lbs than you do. You had to redlight to keep up.

The MoPar powered is a strip only car? You have a working heater, exhaust, radio, A/C? You built your motor out of a catalog, his motor could have been built off swapmeet grass. If you aren't using anything the car came with it's one thing to throw another brand motor in but it gets tough to run A/C and all accessories then.
