Nice video....but you guys just don't know what it's like to fly a REAL COD-C1A. Hell when I was in 40 during the 70s, it was old then. Try a deck run on the LEX. Now that was fun.

Thanks for the video. I flew in the COD with VR-24 as a planecaptain in the mid 70's. Brought back a lot of good memories. Wish she would get more attention than she does.

@xplore30 Hey you were in when Lutz and Ingram were there. The last two guys I know was in 40. When did they change the squadron "patch" from Mercury shooting the bird at the carrier to the present one and why?

@keithwilliamjoseph No they are not. There was one aircraft equipped with an IFR probe for testing, but it was removed after testing.

@TangosUniform ..........I remember flying the C-1, I was assigned to VRC-40 in 1985 we decommissioned the last of them and brought in the C-2 during my tour........AMS3 Aherne

@TangosUniform I think you forgot the word TINY in your REAL COD statement. Should read REAL TINY. The C-2 is a heck of an aircraft, surpassing any version of the S-2.

What a GREAT video - love this aircraft long may they fly. Just finished reading Philip Kaplans book "Fly Navy" and its a good book - gives a nice insight into naval aviation with the FAA and the USN over the years. One of the pilots who writes in it flys COD and she says "I wouldn't trade the C-2 community for any other".
