Carly was right to try to leave. His instincts told him he was facing a charlatan and perhaps, it takes one to know one. Mr. Comfort does not get to impose his beliefs on others and insisting he is right does not make it so. The man is so uncharitable, he wouldn't even give this street performer a few dollars for his time. My, my. What would Jesus say?

@MrAliyak He is no doubt uncomfortable at a stranger approaching him on the street with a camera who then begins calling him a sinner who must repent. That's enough to make the calmest of people a bit on edge. Your suggestion that God must exist since otherwise everything came from nothing, is a poor one. I have heard it so many times before it's becoming cliche. Who then created God would be the obvious response, but this bores me. I believe there may be a God since I cannot know there is not.

@bboots100 so if it's a fiction in his mind - why is he uncomfortable? - wanting to get away, making quick excuses for himself, reluctantly answering the questions. If these were the actions of a boy and his mother, the mother would know he felt guilty. It shouldn't bother him, yet it does.

If God doesn't exist - nothing created everything - an idea that is illogical and unscientific and improbable - it is therefore MORE likely that God exists. IF Jesus is who He said, it's a serious issue.

@MrAliyak It is difficult to be made uncomfortable by a fiction. To this individual, the Bible is certainly nothing more than that. Mr. Comfort's suggestions that he is a sinner and that he must seek God's forgiveness, therefore, holds no weight with him. I feel God and religion are very separate commodities. I believe there may as likely be a God as not. However, I have no belief in religion. It is nonsense rules written by men who had no more real knowledge of God than you or I.

I thought it was interesting how when people are confronted with the commandments that they become uncomfortable. If Carly was indifferent he would have acted totally different. Ray Comfort gave him more than money - he told him of a free gift - the forgiveness of his sins - which only Jesus Christ (not Ray) offers a world which knows it's guilty. That's why man invents nice religions with cuddly gods or rules to follow to make you feel like you earn your salvation and tick boxes on the way.
