Correction, She forgives him in Season 7. Joss Wheadon said that he wanted Buffy and Spike to become close again,but unlike Luke and Laura from the soaps everything would not be forgotten. I think if you watch all of Season 7 you will retain your love of the Buffy/Spike relationship.

I think bathroom scene is third from the last episode of Season Six. Buffy broke up with Spike because she says she is using him. Spike talks to Buffy in her bathroom He thinks if they are intimate again she will decide to take him back. He tries to rape her, but she kicks him off before anything happens. He immediately realizes what he has done and leaves town. We think he is tyring to remove the chip, but he is really going to get a soul to be a better man In Season 6 Buffy forgives him
