Evolution is not 'merely' a theory, it is a scientific theory. Like the theory of gravity. Religion is less than 'merely' a theory. A theory makes a prediction that could potentially proven or disproven by experimentation, meaning it does not rely on faith unlike religion which cannot be proven true or false.

yeh you really should stop listening to who ever told you that, its not a theory its a fact, im sure you should also look up the the meaning of scientific theory... no faith is required because its based on fact and evidence

As much faith with regards to evolution. Evolution is merely a theory, thus requires as much faith as anyone putting their faith in a God or whatever other theories of the origins of the universe atheists may have.

I completely agree with you. You can talk about evolution as much as you want but as soon as one word of religion is uttered, you can be fired or even have a freaking lawsuit filed against you. Atheism requires just as much faith as any other religion in the world, yet they can cram evolution down our throats as much as they want.... It's so stupid.

I think not teaching kids about religion is a huge mistake, its such a major part of our existence here on earth. It is part of our history. I dont believe we should cram it down their throats however, or force them to believe. That decision should be entirely up to individual. The seperation of church and state is a pathetic hypocrisy. I watched c-span and in the senate they say the pledge of allegiance and omit "under God" then they open with prayer from the senate chaplain. Just ridiculous

technology is progressing faster than you think, but again still imagine how small and meaningless the stage of human space travel still is in a universe of this mass. its no more important than the spread of a disease throughout your body

I definitely think there is a higher power out there, but we should try to learn as much about the universe as possible. BTW it is awesome that Sagan is teaching this to kids. I think my parents generation was really at a disadvantage about learning about the universe. I am not even joking when I say this... I actually taught them what stars really are today. I am happy education is becoming a little better lol.

if i ever get children i will never teach them about religion. they deserve better.
