"Mad Love" - but not actually at all.
SUMMARY: The video begins after Harley has been put into Arkham, where she thinks back to how in the world she managed to end up there.
Harleen Quinzel begins interning at Arkham Asylum, and almost immediately becomes fascinated with the Joker. She begins researching him - watching footage, reading up on his file, etc. One evening, while researching, she finds a Joker playing card inside one of her files and immediately knows it's a token from her. When she confronts him about it, he ends up making her laugh.
Harley becomes his personal psychiatrist, and as she begins her sessions with him and learns about his past (or, I mean, the lies he's feeding her about his past) she becomes sympathetic towards his plight and eventually falls in love with him. The Joker escapes from Arkham and goes on a crime spree for about a week, during which Harley is absolutely devastated and completely overcome with worry for his safety.
The Joker is eventually captured and roughed up by Batman, who returns him to Arkham. When Harley sees the state that the Joker is in, she becomes frantic and resolves to get him out of Arkham herself. She plans an elaborate, explosion-ridden escape, and she and the Joker flee together.
THEN THERE'S SOME IMPLIED SEX.
Harley joins the Joker in his life of crime, serving as his faithful sidekick/companion/girlfriend/whatever she is, hopelessly devoted to him. Though she loves him desperately, she begins to see more and more of his temper as their relationship goes on, and begins to wonder if she should be afraid of him.
One evening, several henchmen come to their hideout. This irks Harley, who (as always) was hoping for down-time with the man she loves. She speaks up and an argument ensues in which the Joker viciously beats her. He leaves her, bruised and bloodied, and even then Harley blames herself for the punishment she received from him.
The flashbacks end and we find Harley as an inmate at Arkham once more, listless and heartbroken. However, she finds a rose in her room with a note attached to it from the Joker, and sure enough he shows up that evening. He admits to her that he cares about her (sort of) and busts her out.
I couldn't help but do this video. I'm obsessed with them. And I think Brittany Murphy is perfect. ALL MEDIA OBTAINED LEGALLY AND USED FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY.
