Boris Johnson has no idea how much his proposals cost

Jeremy Paxman tries for over a minute to get London Mayoral candidate Boris Johnson to tell us how much his proposal to replace the bendy buses will cost; Johnson blusters and flounders.

Replacing the bendy buses was practically Johnson's only policy for months. He initially floated a figure of £8M for it, which appeared to be around £90M too small. It would be nice if the man who wants to control a budget of £9000M showed some ability to add up.

I can only assume you don't live in the UK, and so you're not worried about the economic consequences of having a Mayor who will screw up the capital's transport infrastructure in a way that will take decades to recover from. The new "Future routemaster" would have to be a unique design, for essentially one customer, unlike Ken's hybrid technology which has been installed in thousands of buses in America already (BAE Syetems) and proved an enormous commercial success.
