On May 20th, the third edition of Seeing Sounds is dedicated to the Tropicália movement from Brazil. During the sixties, at the time of the Brazilian military dictatorship, a small group of musicians experimented with both Brazilian music as Western influences, visual art and poetry. Tropicália was so radical that its leading protagonists, Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil, were arrested, imprisoned and finally exiled in 1969. Films: Brasil, Brasil: Tropicalia Revolution & Loki (Arnaldo Baptista). Introduction and music selected by Carlos Lagoeiro & Jorn Konijn.
