Middletown CT Roof Collapse 2-2-11

Roof Collapse 2-2-2011 in Middletown, Ct shortly after 11am. Crews from all over the city come to help on the disaster efforts. Middletown PD, State Police, Newington Mobile Comand Post for Police Fire and Rescue came into help, a huge search team came late that night with dogs along with a massive search and rescue. Portland fire and other misc citys came in as while. Debris fell over the street with bricks from the building flown to neigboring buildings. One fire fighter was scared when he heard the noise of the building collapsing he ducked for cover and the helment protecting him even broke into pieces. Yankee Gas and Connecticut Light and Power came to help with the power and gas shutoffs. There was a ambulance on standby incase of any injurys. At 8pm crews were still showing up and helping with stablizing the situation and assisting with cleanup efforts.

That's crazy!! When I heard about that I couldn't believe it. Right across the street from our place at that. Hopefully there won't be anymore problems like that happening anytime soon.
