I guess one really has to consider the team dynamics involved to get out a good product.

@MaximusAragon the industry standard programming language is C/C++. C# is becoming more useful when developing tools for games.
OpenGL and DirectX are the two main graphics libraries used to render 3d graphics. I'd personally try learning to code in Actionscript 3.0 with Adobe's Flex SDK compiler. That way you obtain some experience producing physics simulations, and producing graphics effects in 2D.

which are the essential programming languages that ill need to know ?
since im searching for colleges now i also wanted to know if after school should i pursue a degree in game design or in software engineering ?
could you suggest some good colleges for a degree in game design ?

Bout i have a question iam only 16 and iam going to be doing a tafe courses on graphic design, digital media specialist i love to play game and i want to star helping to design game's are those to thing going to be able to let me work with EA games, BLIZZED and Steam because if not i dont want to wast money on something thats not going to get me where i want to and have to spend more money on something but.

I am not going to get a degree in computer science or math but I will have a degree in Game Programming and a degree in Game Design..can i still land a good job at EA/Rockstar/Bungie?
