  • Aiming for Bioware ;)

  • @MaximusAragon hi there, i had the exact same questions for the exact same reason. Please tell me if you found any answers! im actually 17 and hopefully in time to be thinking this.

  • I guess one really has to consider the team dynamics involved to get out a good product.

  • @MaximusAragon the industry standard programming language is C/C++. C# is becoming more useful when developing tools for games.

OpenGL and DirectX are the two main graphics libraries used to render 3d graphics. I'd personally try learning to code in Actionscript 3.0 with Adobe's Flex SDK compiler. That way you obtain some experience producing physics simulations, and producing graphics effects in 2D.

  • : )

  • Thank you that was very helpful.im 16 and i am looking forward to being in the gaming industry.although i still have a few questions :

which are the essential programming languages that ill need to know ?

since im searching for colleges now i also wanted to know if after school should i pursue a degree in game design or in software engineering ?

could you suggest some good colleges for a degree in game design ?

    thanks again
