Soledad can't express an opinion on whether or not the president last night should have condemned the Cambridge police, but is all too eager to shame Sgt James Crowley for daring to admit that he felt Gates was innocent of b&e during his investigation at Gates' house, and even that he thought a citizen would be grateful that someone was alert and concerned enough about a neighbor's property being possibly burglarized to call the police for help.

After all, that call Crowley answered could have been his last.

In O'Brien's mind, the reality of what a police officer has to go through for their paltry salary every day isn't on her radar. The fact that a police officer who has been an advocate against racial profiling for 10 years is all erased in one segment where O'Brien tries to portray Crowley's frank admission of empathy towards Gates as an example of WHITE FOLKS JUST NOT GETTING IT.

For children like O'Brien and the many minorities who think like her, white police officers are out to get them. In my hometown of Christiansburg, Virginia, the only cases of police being shot for the past 200 years have been from white officers who tried to grapple with a black culprit instead of drawing their weapons, and then the black assailant rips the gun from the policeman's holster, shoots and kills them. America is a lot bigger than where the Soledad Obrien's, Henry Gates', and Barry Obama's live.

What she knows is the average police-hater's angle on issues such as this. She has a "Black In America" program to promote, so being fair-minded and objective be damned.

  • Soledad o'brien was simply stating that racial discrimination, and black people's interaction with the cops, is an issue in America. Don't use this video as some sort of propaganda.

  • @Thedarksecret1 You're entitled to your own silly opinion, but you're not entitled to tell me what to do with any video I choose to use as I wish. Apparently you're used to that kind of demanding behavior. When you mature enough to look at things with a more open mind, you won't react thusly.

  • I find Soledad to be extraordinarily condescending towards blacks and latinos. She seems hell bent on keeping them as 'poor' victims rather than people of ability and means. It's like she is only comfortable with them as victims and likes to remind them that they belong in that category. This woman and her husband make tons of money off of their stories. Do they ever contribute or donate the money they make off of their sensationalism to impoverished communities? I smell a phony. She stinks.

  • @YvonMelalonnia Great comment and observation. Soledad and CNN make a career out of portraying important issues in America in terms of blacks vs whites. They get ratings by trying to create racial tension. It is the same gutless, yellow journalism practiced by Hearst, the NYT, MSNBC, and most major daily papers in our country. Cowards like her act all "down with the brothas" while retreating to her gated community afterwards.

She wants to keep blacks and Latinos on the plantation.

  • @USArgos I don't believe that she is condescending. America HATES to discuss race. We hate to ask and deal with the harsh truths regarding our interracial relationships. We can't ever get beyond them until we recognize that there are institutionalized disadvantages to being of color...and how we will work together to get beyond them.

  • @Grandtenore Speak for yourself. America isn't a single person, you see. For you to say that "America HATES to discuss race", belies your cliche'd thinking. It's lazy thinking. Devoid of critical observation. Obviously it's easier for you to allow CNN to do your thinking than to speak in specific terms, using empirical evidence to support your claims.

  • @USArgos "When you mature enough to look at things with a more open mind" I like that! But I think the title of your video contradicts what you are trying to say. I think you should take your own advice first.

  • I love Soledad O'Brien.

  • @Thedarksecret1 what you said makes sense to me sir

  • @USArgos Yes yellow journalism at its finest. I can't stand her.

  • I like looking at Soledad, she is pretty. I don't care what she is talking about. Kinda like when you watch the Spanish channel just for the hot chicks, even when you can't speak Spanish.

  • @ThePhoenixVixen .....lol, because she acknowledges and reports on racial discrimination. So THAT makes her a "racebaiter" Isnt it obvious? LOL

  • @USArgos Wow. You owned his face. *Clapping* Bravo sir. I'm with you in a stance against youtube trolls.

  • jews for Soledad...get the bastards!

  • @YvonMelalonnia I agree.

  • I'm confused, how is Soledad racist? Explain...
