My MPC was missing many of the popular effects and features that were advertised and used by many beatmakers and producers on YouTube and everywhere else. Come to find out that my machine's operating system was obsolete and in need of an upgrade.

That a JS-30?? I had one awhile while back. I loved that thing! Very limited memory but a dope sampler. 16-bit only (wish it did 12-bit..) but it was grimy n so much fun 2 mess with man. Nice to see some rare gear from back in the day!

i have jjos 3.08 wich makes the 1000 a BEAST !! its just like having a 2500

mpc had a problem where i would chop a sample and save it.. and then when i would load it all the chops would play in a different tone and octave. i was pullin my hair out over it. i just installed the free jjos temporarally. its actually really really nice.. i might go back 2 the new akai updateed os.. not shure yeat tho.. im kinda diggin the jjos

man i havent had any problems with the 1.03, Ill tear some shit up with the 1.03 but yea your right it gives you a lot more options, I personally think that the 2.12 takes too long to chop samples it takes like 3 mins FUCK THAT!!!!!

hey.. im 13 and i just got my mpc.. and im trying to figure out how to download the new version.. i understand that i have to go on the akai website and download it.. but when i try ot put it in, it doesnt update.. please help

well, hopefully you have a compact flash card reader and a usb cable for your computer. go to akai website and download the new operating system for your mpc1000. dump it to the flash card reader as you would place files into another file on the computer. the directions are downloadable also on the site too. after you dump the new O.S to the flashcard, cut off mpc, place the flashcard in mpc and cut it back on...it'll upload automatically.
