  • Nightfall6....brainwashing!!!!...Are you kidding me??!!!...What would you suggest? I know let's adhere to the norm of putting the kids in front of a tv for hours on end.....I'm sure there's no brainwashing there...I'm sure the violence etc that they're exposed to on tv has absolutely no impact on the people these kids grow up to be. If more parents enrolled their children in activities such as music, where they're actually learning something...this world would be a MUCH better place.

  • Ahahaha

    She's teaching the kid piano

And the kid's teaching her English!

    How sweet :-)

  • Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to teach my blind daughter how to play/get familiar with the piano without visual tools? She is currently receiving pre-exposure to Braille; not sure if that helps with reading music notation.

  • its getting them to read thats the most difficult part, most children are hardcore when it comes to identifying patterns and shapes. my little girl is nearly 2 and she can show me A, C or E in any octave :)

  • You might like(well, the kid might like :) Klavarskribo. It's got vertical staffs, which look a bit odd, but they represent the keyboard very well.

  • As a fellow piano teacher who just got a 3 year old student I have been doing a lot of research on how to work with the students. It's been very hard because my student can't count to 5, or know her alphabet at all. This is an interesting idea that I will have to look into.

I especially like the sideways staff. I think that's a fantastic idea. I'll have to implement that into my teaching.

    Thanks for the ideas!
