Today is World Sight Day and our last Think About Your Eyes Thursday. We're going out with a bang, but first we're dropping some k-bombs on you.
Poor vision is the most widespread handicap in the world, impacting more than half of the entire population. Nearly 2.4 billion people have an uncorrected vision problem, yet 80 percent of all visual impairment can be avoided or cured. For those who suffer from poor vision, and may even be unaware of their situation due to lack of eye testing, the handicaps are many, including poor quality of life and difficulty in everyday tasks. 25 percent of U.S. children have a vision problem that impacts their ability to learn, yet 90 percent of those children do not wear glasses. Studies show that the loss of productivity in American companies due to poor vision of their employees could be as much as eight billion dollars per year.
The Think About Your Eyes team set up an eye exam for Jason (watch his video today) and he found out he was slightly farsighted. We have a sponsor next month that's going to help correct his vision, but this entire time he thought his vision was perfect. It doesn't cost and arm and a leg to get an eye exam and you can find qualified eye care providers through the Think About Your Eyes website.
Isn't it worth the time and money to have perfect vision again?
