No don't put it on the firewall. Instead use second skin audio's Firewall ceramic solution. And use sludge everywhere else on the car. It's awesome stuff. Really quiets a car down and strengthens the frame.

Sweaty ballz. If that's not a perfect demonstration on why you should use this all over the car I don't know what is. THAT IS AWESOME.

Actually it weighs more when its wet and depends on how thick you apply it as well.
Wet Weight:
1 mm thick: 0.3265 lbs. (5.224 ounces) per sq. ft.
2 mm thick: 0.653 lbs. (10.448 ounces) per sq. ft.
3 mm thick: 0.9795 lbs. (15.672 ounces) per sq. ft.
Dry Weight:
1 mm thick: 0.2286 lbs. (3.6576 ounces) per sq. ft.
2 mm thick: 0.4572 lbs. (7.3152 ounces) per sq. ft.
3 mm thick: 0.6858 lbs. (10.9728 ounces) per sq. ft.
For what it does the added weight is well worth it.

whats the difference between sludge and sludge firewall?/
lexshimmy 4 years ago
Well Firewall Sludge weighs less then Sludge, about .01 lbs (0.16 ounces) per square foot @ 1 mm thick less.
It also has thermal insulation properties, so it will also reduce the amount of heat that is transfered through the metal of the car wherever you apply it. Great for using as an undercoating for transmission tunnels, above your exhaust system and anywhere under your hood.

why dont i just use it everywhere
lexshimmy 4 years ago
You can, just that most people find it a bit too expensive to apply everywhere and just reserve Firewall/Firewall Sludge for areas that need the thermal insulation and use Spectrum or Sludge for the other areas.
