From '95: OLTL "Viki faces the truth" 4of25

From '95: "One Life To Live" rewrote history with this storyline, that Viki's 'Tori' personality killed Victor. What really happened for those who watched in the mid 70's was Dorian (played by Nancy Pinkerton) admitted to Victor, during a heated argument at Llanfair, that she didn't love him--married him for his money and that he quite frankly disgusted her. Victor collapsed of a heart attack and Dorian stood and watched without getting him his nitroglycerin or calling for an ambulance. Finally, after time passed, one was called...later, Viki is over Victor's bed at the hospital when he tried to mouth to her what Dorian is really all about. However, the heart monitor indicates his heart has stopped--and Victor is dead! Part 4 of 25.

They do to much re-writing. But I didnt know how Victor really died. I lways thought one of Vikis personalities did it. until the 2000's, when her father was revealed to be alive. Only to die days after. Ugh.

Nikki Smith came out several times before this time period. The last time was when her sister's, Tina, stalker tried to rape her. Nikki emerged, as Viki was to weakened from her stroke, to kill him. Her most prominent reemergence was when the truth about Tina being her illegitimate sister had come to light. It was assumed that Nikki was created when Viki walk in one her father and Tina's mother, Viki's college roommate, having sex.

So I have a question about this storyline. Wasn't Nikki Smith an alter before this storyline was written? Did they try to explain her existence before they re-wrote Victor's death/him as a molester? Or was it just assumed Viki went through something traumatic causing Nikki to exist? Thanks to anyone who can answer this!
