Adding Fractions Rap

Lyrics:
Adding fractions is a simple task
Just 3 simple steps and you're done in a flash

First thing's first
Look at denominators

LCM is what we're looking for
What's a LCM you may ask,
I'll say it once, then you say it back

Least Common Multiple
(repeat twice)

We got two numbers that aren't the same
So we check them out, to see what's the game

What's the smallest numbers that we can think of
That we can multiply both by to get them equal

Once we figure that out then it's on to to step 2
Consistency is the thing to do

So we have our fractions and our LCMs
And we multiply them together and see what's there

Not just to the bottom but to everything
Because if we don't, it won't stay the same

Let's do an example to see why it should
Take it step by step and it will all be good

1/3 + 1/2
LCMs now; let's see how we do
The # 3 and 2 both go into 6
We times 2 by three and three by two
We do 1/3 * 2/2 and 1/2*3/3
Which is 3/6+2/6
Like-denominators now so adding is quick

Here's the last part now step #3
Adding all we do and its just a brezze

2/6+3/6 = 5/6 and that's all there is
Denominators are the same
They don't change when we add
Thats why we find the LCMs ahead of time

And now we're all done
