78 mph with a 144V EV Chevy S10 using a Cafe Electric Zilla 1K controller. It was about 30 degrees outside during this test, and I drove 10 miles before getting on the highway.

  • Why the Cafe Electric controller? Those things are ridiculously expensive, but I don't see any features that it has to justify the outrageous cost?

Is there something that their controller does that is so fantastic?

Cafe Electric doesn't keep stock on their controllers and they 10 times the cost of a comparable unit.

Do they have their units blessed by the Dali Llama or what ?

  • I guess my Datsun pickup EV can go about that fast in 4th gear...I have 20 of the Trojan's like yours (weighs some 700 lbs. more than stock)....I've had it up to 60mph easy. I like the manual tilt bed like yours--mine tips right up; counterbalanced real nice. Too many home made pickup EV;s compromise the bed by placing the main battery packs in the bed up front instead of underneath it on custom racks. Imagine that--a 1978 Datsun truck with great traction on slippery winter roads!

  • Cool. Im thinking of soing an EV Trans-am.
