Please join students and faculty for a presentation by Anne Balsamo, professor in the Interactive Media Division, School of Cinematic Arts and the USC Annenberg School. Her topic: "Designing Culture: The Technological Imagination at Work." Professor Balsamo will present materials from her forthcoming transmedia book that explores the relationship between innovation, design and cultural reproduction. To elaborate the meaning of the term "transmedia scholarship," the talk will include brief demonstrations of the diverse digital elements that comprise the "Designing Culture" project. She will frame the talk with a theoretical consideration of the work of the print book in a digital age.
