January 19, 2003: The Buccaneers had just beaten the Philadelphia Eagles 27-10 to win their first (and to this date, only) NFC Championship, and headed to the 2003 Super Bowl. Here's local coverage from all-news cable station Bay News 9, with Todd Kalas narrating, just after the Bucs had won.

  • the good ol days

  • I remember this i moved to michigan before the season had started. I watched the second half of this game at a bar on my lunch break. When Barber picked of t the pass i was the only one cheering.

  • @adamrmattock1 I met Todd back in the early 1990s while he was doing prep hoops here in the Tampa area. Good guy then, I'm sure a good guy now.

  • I met Todd at Camden Yards in June 2011 while preparing for a Rays game

  • this is funny i live in new port richey i was like 11 or 12 when this happened

  • I lived in Oldsmar and I was listening to Gene Deckerhoff on WQYK (They had the Bucs radio broadcast at that time), and when Ronde clinched the game with the pick 6, I asked my buddy if this really just happened? He said to me, yes it did.

I had a preminition when I was in Philadelphia visiting a friend at the time and we had lost the regular season meeting. I said to her, we'll be back. Sure enough, we closed the Vet down and opened Lincoln the same way, with a Bucs win.

  • I thank God to this day that we went to the Superbowl! Had we not gone with all the great defenses we had all those years,it really would have been ashame. And folks please don't feed me that croc that Gruden won it with Tony Dungy's team. Tony couldn't get the job done, Gruden added a few players on offense and voilas!

  • This was an AWESOME memory!!! I love the Bucs, loose, win, or no matter. I am a Buccaneers fan. I still like the FLA Orange Uniform. :D

  • I'll never forget this day. I was living in Atlanta at the time and had a party for the game. I was so elated that they won. We went out that night, got hammered on tequila and I didn't show up for work the next day until 1:00 in the afternoon.
