  • i want to thank you. My mother in law has altimezers. We watch as she slowly forgets her life & herself. I get on in here to see if I can find something that will for a moment bring her back to us. today she did for a song. I played this song... She started to sing word per word. THank you so much.

  • She has beautiful pitch and elocution.

  • i am in love with that song.thank you.x

  • i am in love with that song

  • @9860313 You got it right. I would rather listen to this than that junk from Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga does not even know how to be herself. Plus Pattie Paige never used sex to sell her music, inspite of all the sexism she faced in the 1950's.

  • Talented singers like Patti Page seem to be, sadly, a thing of the past. Such a pretty melody and lyrics...thanks so much for posting this!

  • @trooper7h never did find my first love...

  • I know this isn't the original. I have the original too and I far prefer this version. Each to their own.

  • 19 year old Dorothy Dell introduced this beautiful ballad in a 1934 movie

"Shoot the Works" starring Jack Oakie. As fate would have it, she was

a victim in a car accident before the movie was released. She'd be

pleased to know that her song has lived on in good hands.

  • Not the original recording, with Patti recording her voice five times (though I think the label said four times) and amazingly harmonizing with herself. She got a feature in Life Magazine for it and a big hit record out of it.
