Surely todays bordering areas share common tradition.
That applies to all countries of the world...
Just remembered one song from Bitola-Monastir area...
"Aber mi ide od Mogila"
-
hmm,maybe you're right.i should check that.
a lot of this kind of music comes from the refugees, but i think it is also present in the south parts of republic of macedonia.

Stani Anke is indeed in slav...
It goes like...
Stani anke, stani kerko
S'lanceto izgreva
S'lanceto izgreva kerko
Svatove ki dojdat
Svatove ki dojdat kerko
Tebe da ti zemat.
Most songs i heard from Fyrom artists are actually from immigrants of the area.. 11/8 rythm is typicall of Pella, Kilkis and Thessaloniki area in Macedonia, Greece

Sorry,I'm from Rep. of Macedonia.
"Stani Anka" is obviously a dance of slavophonic Macedonians.
It means "Get up,Anka".
There is lot of music with 11/8 rhythms, quite typical for the whole region of Macedonia-north or south.
Wow! This is the first time I have seen a reasonable conversation about this topic on youtube! Congratulations!

Thats because i try to keep politics off. I have removed many political posts and blocked many rude posters so far.
