Winnipeg Blue Bombers vs. Edmonton Eskimos July 20, 2006

I took my family to Alberta for our 2006 vacation. Quite luckily, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers happened to be playing while we were there - so I took my 7-year-old son to his first CFL football game.

Originally, the Eskimos were scheduled to play the BC Lions during our vacation but when the Ottawa Renegades were suspended, the CFL redrew the schedule. And they just happened to schedule a different team to play in Edmonton - & it was the Winnipeg Blue Bombers!

This is my first time seeing the Bombers play in white jerseys. We were doubly lucky to witness first hand Milt Stegall's huge 100 yard game-winning touchdown pass from Kevin Glenn which is also included in this video (along with me freaking out LOL).

The funniest part about it after we left was when we caught the bus going back to Heritage Mall. Someone offered his seat to me saying "I think that a father should be able to sit with his son" or something like that. I accepted & thanked him. 1 minute later I hear him say "I didn't know I was giving up my seat to a Bomber fan!!!" He did not demand his seat back though I wouldn't have hesitated to give it back LOL. :)

I remember watching this game on TV and just screaming when Milt got that catch and woke up several neighbours as my window was open LOL! They were mad at me but I just said MILT IS THE BEST!!

@bombergal1 LOL funny - reminds me how my son & I attempted to blow our plastic horn that I bought at the game. We likely didn't wake any poor Edmontonians up - we blew it quite poorly LOL.

I was at that game lol I was sitting across the stadium though and I was cheering for the Eskimos I was so pissed when that happened thats the first time I've been at Commenwealth and they;ve lost, I was so happy when we scored that final TD then my friend jinxed it saying it's not over yet boys, I said no way it's done.....ahh shit lol

I've watched this various times before, great lucky to see with your kid who now probably understands the game better at a 11, I think you were thinking to record and take photos during and before the game, I loved that touchdown, best play ever and lucky you guys got to see it, it's amazing how you stayed, till the end, I'm looking forward to see the bombers play the Eskimos, this Saturday for my 1st game to see this year
