  • you are so wrong - starts first time every time. Been using it regularly for over 3 years now. I would so hate a modern japcrap make believe engine

  • it looks in good nick

  • not sure how many hours it has run since rebuild but not that many - it was completely rebuilt in 1999.

  • how olds the engine?

  • 1944 - ie 64 years old

  • That's ticking over about 200/250 RPM.

  • @johndeere4300 very slow about 350 rpm

  • when its idiling at the end what rpm is that running at?

  • @gardnerman21 Yes, you are so right about that. You couldn't even get a new engine comparable to the Gardner.. All of the new ones are CT Engines (CHINA TRASH!!) Glad you kept your Gardner......

  • @endymius; My Engineering Expertise has always been ALMOST perfect. Fact is after 50 years of chasing/making parts etc. I am just glad to get in something and GO! I have nothing left to prove as I have made everything I have found run fine. Just tired of the hassle. We have had Bikes, Vettes, boats, and street rods to Grandkids Go-Karts. Get something newer and it will last my lifetime now. I always 'looked after' my own stuff as others were not up to my standards---especially New Car Dealers!.

  • @retiredscot LOL at retiredscot :-D That says more about your own engineering expertise than it does about old engines. Follow your own advice: Get a modern engine and get *someone else* to look after it for you. Quality engineering is best enjoyed by those who know about it :-)

  • my dad had a boat whith an engin just like that....but he took it out and put some jap moter in it....could have killed him lol lol...

  • Affa Bonnie Soon!!

  • GLAD to be wrong! (First time for everything?) I have tried to make these 'antique' type engines live before by making engine parts, shimming, modifying stuff etc. only to have wasted a lot of time, energy and money. Good LUCK!
