I argue the case. Read the Declaration where it talks of: "That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed". It seems pretty clear that the duty of the judicial branch is to protect human rights, not just to enforce the prohibition of the government taking away rights. The latter incorrect interpretation is exactly what the corporations want, because it leaves them free to violate your rights.

What the corporations do is waive the liability for damage from the people (CEO's) who run the corporation. You can't send a corporation to prison. The only thing that corporations require from government is to get out of their way when it comes to socializing the cost of their products in order to keep the price artificially low.

But I disagree with what you just said. The government DOES protect human rights. If you read the entire Declaration of Independence it is clear that Jefferson was remarking on the reflexive nature of government, that governments that do not protect human rights are overthrown. Man is endowed with the desire and ability to overthrow such governments.
In any event, if you're going to list rights, it seems prudent to mention in passing that the list is not exhaustive.

Yes, I agree that it is not a list of human rights. That was the whole point of me saying, "The government doesn't give you rights."
My issue with what you said is that the 9th Amendment is meaningless. It is just filler of the obvious. The Federalists didn't want the Bill of Rights. The Anti-federalists did for emphasis.
So, the 9th Amendment was created simply saying, "Hey, just so you know, we mentioned some rights, but the government still doesn't have power to take away others."

Govt programs are immortal; corporations without corporate welfare from the Democrats go under.
Corporate personhood is a great -- it makes corporations *liable* for their behavior. If a company sells a citizen a telescope and tells them to point it at the sun and they burn their retina, the company will get sued. This is a huge contrast to participatory socialism where The People have absolute power. (Of course, this means nothing without free markets.)

So you agree that the constitution is not a list of human rights, and that the opponents to the bill of rights thought that they were not necessary. Maybe I am wrong about you, but listen again to the video and you will see that I said the same thing you just did.
