I played through this whole game at an arcade that had a free-play lock-in type of thing.
Jesus was it hard.

Takes alot of practise - I'm kind of the same, I do suck at these games but I LOVE them! I would recommend getting a high quality stick as well - while the PS2 pad is pretty cool for shmups, a sensitive stick will improve your chances a little with micro adjustments.

Yeah. and even with constant restarting, I can only get to the stage 3 boss... Plus I'm nowhere near this good. For example, I've never had 10k medals on stage 1.

but this is all from the arrange mode.
and the arrange is pretty "easy" because of your ability to restart levels.
