MBTA commuters on the Lowell Line just north of Mishawum in Woburn MA. This was once the Boston & Lowell Railroad. Wikipedia says the following: " It was one of the first railroads in North America and the first major one in the state. The line later operated as part of the Boston and Maine Railroad's Southern Division."

  • Pete - Just finished my 7th week at my new job in BOSTON. I take the very first train into the city (5:35AM out of Lowell). In the afternoon, I take different trains. I take any of the outbound trains between 4:10PM and the 5:30PM express. I keep looking for you when we pass Mishuwam heading to Anderson/Woburn. I usually sit in the last car.

  • @jph0917 Well, I'm either hiding, invisible or I don't get up to Woburn until later.

  • @PKingman - Today I saw all your 'HIDING' spaces as the train went by. This explains why the trains don't sound their horns as they approach you and you get such great shots. I commend you on your Safe Railfanning. Keep up the great work.

  • @jph0917 Got to set a good example for the young rail fans, and not get arrested for trespassing too. If the engineers know me they must wonder what this old guy finds so exciting about taking pictures of their trains but at least he's old enough to know to keep his distance from the tracks. On this particular excursion I discoved that the little pile of old railroad ties that I was sitting on had a nest of yellow jackets underneath. We coexisted for about 10 minutes. That was good.

  • @PKingman - Ouch! Did you get stung or did they leave you alone? I'm sure the engineers have seen rail fans of all ages. Some of them are pretty good but others are complete ass holes.
