I started to practice kendo a month ago and I've bought a keiko-gi and a hakama just a few days ago. This video has been very useful to know how to put the keiko-gi and the hakama.

i think you should use the white keiko-gi for this demo, so we could see clearly where the tie goes.

@painsey you can still wear the keiko-gi in ninjustu however the pants in ninjustu are called bakama. Similar to to the hakama, bakama differ at the shin where there are himo to tie around the shin and is cut so that you only use so much...try googling Bakama.

So if no T-shirt, that doesn't mean muscle shirt to right?.... !!

My only problem is the pixellation when it zooms in really closely, but I doubt that was escapable. My uniform comes in on next Wednesday and now I know how to tie it! Thanks!

Thank you very much for this video. I really should try to remember the last know, since it looks a lot more tidy than the one I make, so thanks :D

You're welcome! "Tidy" is good in kendo. So either you want to make a bow or not, less wrinkle is always good.

thanks for the great video, most of us at our local kendo dojo have debated among ourselves of how to do our hakama, with many arguments and laughter among us al!! Thank you

There are many ways of putting on a hakama. Those who do aikido might have a different way and those who do kyudo might have a different way. So there is no one right way of putting a hakama on. But what I am showing here should be the normal and general way of putting the kendo hakama on.
