Here is a song I wrote on the ukulele and recorded with the built-in camera and microphone on my computer.
Additional tracks were added in GarageBand, including a MIDI "drum" track.

  • nice but drop the guitar crutches - drop the pick man. hold your finger like youre holding a pick and strum the same but use your fingernail of the 1st finger on the downstroke and your thumbnail on the upstroke. Old habits die hard. nice groove though man.

Thanks for watching my video but using a pick isn't a crutch. A pick is a tool.

I sometimes use a pick when playing bass. Sometimes I don't. Depends on what sound I'm after. Same thing goes for ukulele.

In my opinion, picks can be used on any stringed instrument, not just guitar.

  • Alright man, great uke and playing. Helped me decide which tenor I wanted!

  • @MercuryMerk

Awesome! Have fun with your tenor ukulele.

  • Great piece, I just got the Lanikai LU-21C its sooo much better than the cheap Mahalo I got recently. I've just started with the uke the lanikai seems to be a great affordable instrument. Well done on the song, I've just started writing some of my own, all the best

Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • @SeanBoke youre trying to play your uke like its a guitar. I get it - I play guitar too - but its not the same instrument. And picks are for steel strings and probably only an electric guitar if youre really good (I use a pick on an acoustic). Certainly a classical guitar should never be played with a pick and a uke has gut strings like a classical. Chris Squire is the only bassist that gets a pass for using a pick. Make urself learn to play without a pick. Lose the crutch. Great Song.

  • Great vid! do you have a tab for this yet?
