The European Parliament celebrates the 10th anniversary of the euro. Nigel Farage intervenes with a comparison with the old Soviet times and a quick diagnosis of the euro.
Before the euro session, Ind/Dem group staff handed out postcards with chocolate coins...
NOTE: It was Alain Lipietz MEP (Greens) who, during the same debate, described ECB president Jean-Claude Trichet and Economic and Monetary commissioner Joaquín Almunia as Europe's Bernanke and Paulson.

Obviously, you are STILL laboring under the same gross misconception. This isn't about economic convenience one bit. It's about financial centralization, which, by the way, doesn't give a rat's ass about social or ethnic posterity.
This "Euro-crap" is a modern day I.G. Farben, but too many fools are too busy still waving the banners of success to realize that it is just doomed. Nigel was right, although while he says it has 10 years to go, I only give it 5 or 6 before the revolutions start.
Try to understand that this isn't 1950s anymore. If the only fact that one isn't sent to Siberia for having unfavorable political views nowadays, equals freedom to you, you have to do something about your standards and the way you perceive politics. Also, remember that many, if not most of the people sent to Gulags were people who fought & died for freedom and democracy. Don't you dare belittling Their sacrifice and their achievements with your weak, runny references to them. It's an offense!
Russian journalists are still being murdered for their anti-State views. Except that the murders take part in places like Moscow and not Brussels or the EU.
Your second paragraph makes no sense whatsover. My point was that we do the people of the Gulag a disservice by comparing the current EU situation to theirs? But maybe you simply misread one of my earlier posts.

Yes, it also rained pink cows yesterday.
