Good on ya for having a sense of humor about it. Flowers are just things that can grow back. How many opportunities does one get to get such amazing video of such a magnificent bird! LOVED IT!

LOL! I think that's a "she." I don't see a red dash on the cheek to indicate maleness. She was on a mission--for what heaven only knows. Thanks for the laugh.

Glad you enjoyed the video, and thank you for your comment. I went back and took a look at my original video, and this is a very young male. The red is just starting to come into that black "dash" on his cheek, it's just hard to see.

I have several Pileated Woodpeckers that visit daily all year round. We also have Hairy and Downy woodpeckers and Northern Flickers on a regular basis.
