I absolutely love to see people from the African diaspora embracing the fact of being so-called "BLACK PEOPLE". Especially Afro Latinos because from my experience the average Latino would rather be an Alien from outer space or a beast from the wild than a so called Black,Negro,Afro,etc. woman or man.

the majority of United Stateans are a mixture of European(British,etc), African, and Indigenous. But they don't know that. I n your country Colombians know that they are mixed.

When I was in Atlanta I hung around all New Yorkers too because I could relate to them more. I understand this concept BUT im talking about oil black Dominicans I know personally saying they are Indian or dark because its so hot there.

@nycolombian91 And btw I'm NOT black and I am NOT African American. And ghetto is a complex term. There are all types of neighborhoods in Latin America that are poor and people of all groups inhabit them.

But 1 thing that we cannot deny is that in Latin America and many other countries those that control the power do often tend to be those who are ligther skinned. We cannot deny that. Class and color are inextricably linked.

@nycolombian91 I come from Latin culture so I think I'd fucking now. Don't call me ignorant when you just made an assumption. As a matter of fact you should have read all of the comments on this page. My main point was that it has often been people of the darker skinned tones and especially Afrodescendants and Indgienous people's in Latin America that suffer disproportionately compared to other groups.

And yes there are social colonial leftovers. Do you speak English?

@nycolombian91 Stop lying. No one said that everything is because of racism. In Latin American nations there definitely is colorism and those who are descendants of Africans tend to lag behind because of the social colonial left overs.

Classism though is more of a problem in Latin America however
