I Suck at Touhou - Part 1

So, in the wee hours of the morning of March 20th, I got it in my head to play a little Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. I was very tired, but onwards I went. I got as far as Patchouli's second Spell Card before losing it completely. It was also my (apparently) second time playing as Reimu B, which I have basically no experience playing as.

I made a mistake in my commentary, as I said this was the best I'd ever done, and that's a lie. I got the the 5th stage as Reimu A and managed to score about 2.5x the number of points in the process. I just did it with all of my continues and couldn't record a replay.

Now this video encompasses the first two stages, which I did pretty well on, at least until I got to the mid-boss of stage 2. I started making some pretty stupid mistakes here and there. I suppose what I really need to do is learn how to bomb better, and then how not to die quite as much. I've been playing off and on for about a month and a half, so I know I'm nowhere near good enough to actually say anything about my ability, especially since I haven't gone above Normal difficulty, yet.

Anyways, enjoy my failing. I'm sure there's more where that came from.

This is probably my best Touhou game, though I'm still no pro at it. The trick is to abuse the point of collection line, use graze points to get more extends (rumia's lasers are really good for getting graze points quickly). Patchouli is where the game really just ramps up in difficutly, but her cards aren't too bad. It's the rotating + lasers that always give me issues. I've managed to 1cc as Reimu A and Marissa B, and Extra is so fun :D Theres a run of it on my channel if your curious.

Honestly, I still think Hong Meilng is my bane with Rainbow Windchime in this one. It feels easier when playing on Lunatic in comparison to Normal. My eyes play tricks on me with the patterns on Normal, which more or less don't exist on Lunatic because of the massive concentration of bullets.

Never played any of them beyond 8, and I don't expect I ever will, honestly.

@SilvermistLimberry I just recently managed to get through Hard mode on MoF and UFO, but only by spending an absolutely ridiculous amount of continues. My player data for MoF shows 128 attempts, and my UFO data shows 298 attempts. Evil... @_@

Patchouli is surprisingly difficult. I might even say she's harder than Sakuya. I can usually get past Meiling without dying at all (on Normal), but Patchouli (and Patchouli's stage) always manages to kill me at least once. >_>

Touhou 6 (this game) makes 7 and 8 seem easy, though you might want to stay away from MoF and UFO. Both of those are leaps and bounds harder than the previous games, at least to me. (continued)

Cool game, i used to play these kinda games when i was very young. The only thing that seems evolved are the graphics :D.

Try starting the next touhou you play on Lunatic mode for about 8-9 rounds. Then go down to normal again and see if you still find it difficult. I find I can't play on any mode lower then hard without dying of boredom now. xD
