Hamelin is the best. He's playing this without looking at the piano using one hand only.

@mdeonx16 It's Marc-Andre Hamelin. You expect to be able to read any of his music? lol

Hamelin is a wonderful pianist. He is not in the same tradition of my favourite of over 50 years, which is Horowitz, but for me he outshines anyone I know who is still with us. He reminds me more of Lhevinne, whose amazing performance of Campanella is available on YouTube. That's a piano roll, re-played on a newly restored Ampico, (1960's), which the Critics of the day considered as authentic as a piano roll can be. Compare them and let me know what you think.

I wonder what that sheet music in the background in the video is..

dang that animato section at 4:20 is so perfect that i'm wondering if he took out some notes...
-
I don't like 4:38...

No words. Better than Lang Lang, Kissin, so clear and flawless yet so fast!!

Extraordinario... impecable.

Fabulous!
The more I listen to him, the more I'm convinced no one can match him.

@42rachmaninov I see what you did there!!! I was curious as to why this video was almost 7 minutes long when some other performances are barely 4 1/2 minutes. I thought "what could he have done to the piece to make it so long?" :D
