Melasma is a dark skin discoloration found predominantly on sun-exposed areas of the face and chest. It's a very common skin disorder that can be treated with the advanced lasers at American Medical Aesthetics. The group of people most affected by this skin disorder is young women with darker skin tones. It is also extremely common in pregnant women and women who are taking contraceptive pills or hormone replacement therapy. The risk is also higher for people who have been over-exposed to sunlight, and those who don't wear proper sun block. Melasma first appears like sun spots or sun damaged skin, and later develops into a more extensive "mask-like" coverage of the skin. Melasma can be described as a brown toned discoloration found most commonly on the cheeks, nose, lips and forehead. See below to view photos of Melasma laser treatments.

  • this laser can be used on asian skin and what is the name of the laser?

  • I believe the laser was a quantum. AMA is unique as they have worked with the companies and developed protocols that allow them to work on the entire spectrum of skin colors. Without seeing you it is hard to say but you should be able to find a clinic that can work on your skin.

  • I would like to know if you can expect to tan evenly again and avoid the hyperpigmentation after a treatment like the one described in the video?

  • I couldn't answer that. I would ask AMA through their website. amacorp^com

  • @mymmcom where did you get these tablets.

  • @coronaqueen221

There are lasers for all skin types. It's not available in all areas. But, Cultura in Washington D.C. treats ALL skin with lasers.

  • @sandraavelino Fair Beauty skin lightening tablets, I take 7 tablets per day plus vitamin C, My skin is now lighter, and my spots have faded. Its easier than using messy creams.

  • @mymmcom Please, what is FAIR BEAUTY? Thanks

  • HOW MUCH?

  • i'm black and i want to know what laser can be used on darker pigmentated skin for hyperpigmentation and can also be used on lips

  • I had eight laser treatments on my face to supposely remove a brown spot on my face, and everything was a waste of time and MONEY! My face looks worse now, and I really REGRET having done this procedure on me. Watch out people! It's easy to get motivated through false advertisement videos like this. Laser isn't the perfect cure. I don't know why "dermatologists" lie so professionaly. Reality is exactly the opposite. They only want our money easily! If anyone wants to contact me, please do so.

  • how much would this cost???

  • Take 5 tablets of Fair Beauty per day and your liver spots will fade. I use it for 2 months and i was really pleased

  • the most debilitating condition? this guy's a jackass. and only a good buffing can bring out that shiny head.
