  • Hello, I use to play the piano for long. Firth of fifth favourite, I manage to learn it with just a little small tape machine in the beginning, 30 years ago it was a deal task for me, and helped me to become good enough at the piano. Your Version that shows a deep understanding of Firth of fifth is wonderful, very close at the beginning, and really facinating in all the rest of the song, somewhat more romantic and relaxing. Gratitude for your great work! I can still play it but it's different.

  • @markusmala Thank you very much. :)

  • I want to learn this piece. Where can I buy your beret?

  • @Japanzor The beret is not for sale. But the sheet music is. :)

  • Is there any place I can find sheet music for this version?

  • Thank you for your interest. You can purchase the book of manuscript I have published through my website. DavidMyersMusic.ca

  • Lovely, David! I like the tempo and the dynamics, the harmonies and modulation, the swing (in parts), the pauses and, as ever, the wonderful counterpoint you have woven into Tony's composition. You bring out all the voices of the piece even more clearly than a band could with its various instruments.

Thank you for posting this long version - close up! One sees clearly what a master of the music and the instrument you are. I can't wait to start practicing your arrangement of this piece!

  • Bravo! The last part is so beautiful and soothing, even cathartic!

  • Tony Banks must be proud of you to preform his music like

    this.

    This is fantastic, congratulations.

I have been a Genesis fan since 1979 and listen to all there staff.

    This is the best ever

    Regards from Sweden

  • Brilliantly played. What amazes me is how good the music is for a pop group. It is semi-classical in nature.

  • Absolutely stunning. My goal is to play this before I die.

I'm new to piano and have a long journey ahead.

I doubt even Antony banks could play it this good.

  • Should read "from the album Genius on Piano"

  • This is good, but it's not fast enough

  • 5.48 love the sound fading at this point with the delicate piece played over the top.

  • @verity9000 I think I have to buy your sheet book about genesis I played some of the songs with the first publication of the time and of course listening to the records, like one for the vine, A trick of the tail, from the undertow, Burning rope, Heathaze and some others, it was big job, but was happy to deal with things I loved, I forgot a bit because of lack practising. But I will be forever fascinated by this music, and try again in my time space. Thanks for your dedication.
