  • @sGreyful Some of us only see this show on youtube cuz we dont get fbn :P

  • thanks for this. i was upset that i missed it and wasn't going to be able to find it online.

  • @scepticsteve Well I am actually agreeing with you

  • @samuils But it's also true that the higher price equilibrium will attract more people to sell them and put a lot of private effort into providing them. there was this anecdote of a guy who put a lot of generators or pumps on his pickup and went down to Louisiana after the storm. He was put on trial for too high prices. Without the high price opportunity it wouldn't have paid for him to do the travel. Yes, there is opportunism, clearly. I just think the benefits outweight the shortcommings.

  • @scepticsteve Actually in the time of crisis, what you end up with is, you having no generators because they were cheap enough for a bunch of people to buy them all out. Then you will see those very generators somewhere in the back of the truck being sold for crazy amount

  • I agree with most of this. But it's not true that when prices skyrocket people who really need them most get them. Al Gore will have a generator, not me. He can outbid me anytime for everything. So the rich people get them first. That's ok with me, though. Better the rich get their's first and then many more (not 3 times amount for 3 times the price, why did he make this up? maybe 10 times for 3 times the price?) are available. Better to save more people than to have a fair lottery!
