  • if you graduate from the citadel do you have to join the military????

  • @HASsecurity_ No. While enrolled, cadets participate in ROTC with the service branch of their choice, but there is no requirement to serve after graduating. In recent years, approximately 35% of each graduating class has earned a commission.

  • Just reading your comments tells me you have no clue what you're talking about. First off, all officers begin at the rank of Second Lieutenant or equivalent rank depending on branch. It doesn't matter if you are commissioned through ROTC, a Senior Military College, or an Academy. It is commonly accepted that among the Senior Military Colleges, The Citadel is the most intense. Now take your uninformed ass outta here, thank you.

  • my best friend is leaving august 15th to go to the citadel she plans on joining the marines and i know that if she chose to go here its an awesome place to be i only wish i was as interested in the military as all those who attend here it seems like a great place to grow...

  • I got accepted. I'll be there in August. Wish me luck because I'm not sure what I'm getting into. I'm up for the challenge but excited at the same time.

  • lmao my uncle remembers being called a nob freshman year

  • @TheCitadelFoundation hey i'm looking to go to the citadel aren't all graduates offered a commission upon graduation?

  • @JusBeL337 ME TOO!!!!

-Study your Guidon ALOT (You can find it online)

    -Read Lords of Discipline

-Read We Were Soldiers Once and Young

-Get used to using "Yes ma'am/sir"

    -Run/Pushups/Situps/Pullups

-If you're not in JROTC right now, learn the military customs and the facing movements (right face, left face, etc.)

  • Just watched this out of interest. Everything seemed alright until I saw that kid doing push ups and having his shirt pulled while someone spit water on him. It doesn't seem like the cadre there keep the senior cadets from acting like punks.

  • I am going to be a part of the Class of 2015 at The Citadel in August. Would anyone like to give me advice?

  • My Dad is coming up his 50th reunion to the Citadel. He still talks about with such esteem. I just wished I had gone there.

  • Also I joined the National Guard to help pay for tuition (in which I plan to transfer to the SC Army National Guard after I finish AIT) and to serve my country. Yet I had also believed that by doing so I could further show my interest and desire to be a part of the Citadel Corps of Cadets by demonstrating my determination and discipline. Which my question is will the Citadel look at me as a higher candidate because of my decision to serve my country? Thank you for your time.

  • I am currently enlisted in the NC Army National Guard as of 20110406 and I graduate from high school on 20110611 from which I will be attending basic training on 20110621 in which I will start my training to become a 68W. My question is that while I am attending AIT at Ft. Sam Houston when should I apply for early decision?

  • i remember when i was an e19

    people graduate from the citadel???
