Me talking about the book 'The Suspicions of Mr Whicher or The Murder at Road Hill House' by the British writer Kate Summerscale. A nonfiction book about a murder that took place in a small village in Wiltshire in England in 1860. A fascinating story, very well researched and written. Absolutely recommended.

  • Yes I will buy it

  • This sounds intriguing.Your reviews are excellent and insightful and make the subject matter interesting without revealing too much. The Victorian era was so fascinating, especially the London scene. I love all the Arthur Conan Doyle mysteries and also the Jack the Ripper investigations.London was so crowded, everyone crammed into the rat maze with the industrial revolution in full swing.Life was degradation but the uptight social mores had a built in facade.

    Thanks for this great review.

  • Almost sounds like something Patricia Highsmith could have written, or used. (Have you ever read Highsmith? Do you like her?) Thanks! Gare
