  • What university are you attending ? Btw your crazy good bro !

  • @vjP12 Thanks! University of Utah. Graduated this summer.

  • Brilliant, just fantastic. Where/how did you study how to solo?

  • @drummerboycraig Thanks! At the University of Utah, I take lessons w/ the best locally. It's a lot of somewhat modern jazz idea's I suppose. It all comes down to what you listen to and what you study...that's what going to come out of your playing. A lot of this soloing is heavily jazz based.

  • Excellent playing man! How did you get your doubles on the kick so fast and tight?

  • @mug7703 Thanks! I think the secret to that, and to anything musicians play, is to be able to play it clean and accurate at a really slow tempo. Then bump it up a little bit every few days. If you can discipline yourself to do that over a couple of months, you will find great results. As for the foot lick, I started with a metronome at slow tempos and just played |:RLFF:| as 16th notes as well as triplets. As I got better, I turned played along with tunes and played the lick every 4 few measures

  • hey Geekdrummer. Super nice drumsolo.

I am aslo trying to some funk/jazz related grooves, but i am a bit stuck on my grip techique to get the really nice sounding ghostnotes.

I have been practicing the french grip(1 finger, finger to finger), my left is still a bit handicapt. What do you suggest me doing the get those ghost accent rights. Normally i just play loose(matched) grip.

    What your opion on this?
