Though Sea Level is generally considered a byproduct of the Allman Brothers mid 70s breakup. Historical perspective places the band at the forefront of a strain of Jazz-Rock fusion developed in the Southeast during the 1970s.
As a Georgia boy, I never considered them a by product of ABB, but an evolution of the style. Have always loved them both!!!!!!! I've said before that I was also into The Dixie Dregs at about the same time.
Chuck Leavell and Randall Bramblett are still playing and making great music...
