Aww ok, worth a shot anyway :P
Cheers for the suggestion about HD, I would love to go for it, but to find a cam that is as manually flexible as the XM2 or the sony TRV90E I'd be needing to spend around £1400 (my 600cc motorcycle isn't worth that much, haha). If you're not too busy, could you let me know your opinion on one of my test vids? (I'd need to add you as a friend 1st and allow you to view it). If not no worries. Thanks anyway.

I notice that you said you've moved into high definition filming! I'm in need of a decent camera & am on the look-out(even though currently unemployed). I only own a Std.Def dvd-105e (can you hear the violins? ;). I'm seriously considering the XM2 because of it's exstensive manual functions & great low light performance(compared to 99% of high def cam's with similar price tags). I don't suppose you'd consider selling your XM2 obscenely cheap anytime soon? lol. Sorry if this is a cheek. Msg me?

Hi Bob,
First and foremost... GREAT film! I kinda expected the ending as soon as I saw the tenner laying there (I love poetic justice/irony:)
I'm a newbie, privately studying all aspects of film making. I found everything very well composed. I did however notice(and don't wish to seem 'above my station') the glasses;
2:57 - 3:07 glasses on, 3:08 glasses off.
3:59 - 4:01 off. Damn that out of sequence shooting ;)
Other than that Perfect :D
Hi Bob - I also saw your article in the IAC mag and had to see the video. It really lives up to David Andrew's praise. Lovely composition. Have to admit I had to watch it twice before I noticed the glasses thing!

Thank-you Trev 68e. I am now working in HD. Google VIMEO HD. The site has a specific interest in short amateur & semi pro films. Click on the explore tab and open HD FILMS. I have new work on the site. Search Bob Lorrimer Videos.
Some of my films are this year's entries to IAC Comp...you might prefer to wait and see them 10 foot wide! If they are shown that it is.
Thanks again,
Bob

Saw the report in F & V Maker and The Trap is all, and more, that D. Andrew said. Absolutely brilliant. I have the same equipment as you and you have just set me a new target!

Thank-you distongreen, A close up lens and using the wonderful 20x telephoto of the XM2, especially with close ups will add to your work.
I usually set the exposure automatically then I engage the manual button and close the iris click by click, the quality of the image will improve in front of your eyes!
Best wishes, Bob.

Technix22, You are right about the glasses! The Trap is entirely self made. In order to adjust the camera I put the glasses on but to see the reversed LCD I have to take them off!
Hence a problem in the edit!
My new work in HD is more cinematic and a joy to look at. I think you should buy HD when you can afford it.
I still use the Xm2 as a means to display mini DV .. nice try!
