This is a fantastic jazz record by Art Kassel and His Orchestra recorded in 1947. It has been recorded by many artists, and has been in the top ten a number of times.

"(I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons" is a popular song. The music was written by William Best, with lyrics by Deek Watson. The song was published in 1945. * The biggest-selling version, by Nat King Cole was released by Capitol Records as catalog number 311. It first reached the Billboard magazine Best Seller chart on November 22, 1946 and lasted 12 weeks on the chart, peaking at #1.[1] * The recording by Eddy Howard was released by Majestic Records as catalog number 7204. It first reached the Billboard magazine Best Seller chart on January 10, 1947 and lasted 5 weeks on the chart, peaking at #6. [1] * The recording by Dinah Shore was released by Columbia Records as catalog number 37188. It first reached the Billboard magazine Best Seller chart on January 10, 1947 and lasted 4 weeks on the chart, peaking at #6. [1] * The recording by Charlie Spivak was released by RCA Victor Records as catalog number 20-1981. It first reached the Billboard magazine Best Seller chart on January 10, 1947 and lasted 14 weeks on the chart, peaking at #7.[1]

  • wow how cool is this..i have that very picture record sitting on the turntable of my victrola.......it was part of a whole series of issues...for two years out of Detroit....most cool...

  • @gigglydot That's pretty neat. I have a lot of these in my collection, and quite a few posted. They were only made from May of 1946 to April of 1947 by Sav-Way Industries in Detroit, with seventy four 10" records being produced, and just a couple of 12" prototypes, private presses, and one-offs.

  • And "The Righteous Brothers" [actually, just ONE of them, Bobby Hatfield, even though he and Bill Medley were jointly credited] recorded a version produced by Phil Spector for Philles in 1965 (on the flip side of "Ebb Tide").
