Review of the Taurus pt-840 MSRP $595.00 I purchased it (NEW) at Our local gun show for $389.00 + $10.00 Background For a total of 399.00 put 150 rnds through it not 1 mishap Performed Flawlesly.Great gun Lifetime warranty Would recomend Taurus to anyone I have had 4 and not 1 problem with any of them. They say To clean the gun After you get them home to remove oll the Factory grease I do not do that beacuse I want to push it as far as I can to see how many Rounds that I can put through it befor it starts messing up (IDON'T SEE ANY PROBLEM WITH SHOOTING THEM RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX) IT is you're option to clean it if you like. JUST REMEMBER ANY NEW GUN THAT YOU PURCHAS HAS AT LEAST 200 250 RNDS TO BREAK IT IN FOR IT TO OPERATE SMOOTHLY Depending on the brand ie sig saure, glock Taurus u may not have any problems if u have a missfeed stove pipe it may be the ammo I sugest that you fire different brands of ammo to find the right AMMO for you're gun I shoot Magtech and winchester white box through my 40 Cal
all @ 180 grane FMJ and FMC For the Magtech all fired without misshap... I hope that this was helpfull to you all First time buyers and all the shooters out there
Thank you all

  • I havn't tried the FNX-9 I just bought A NEW Taurus PT-740 In 40S/W that is my Primary carry gun for the spring and summer. The Taurus 840 is a great gun. I shot it right out of the box with the factory grease still in it I never clean my guns after i buy them it out of the box and straight to the range this way I will know if it will be something that I can depend on,with my life. If it fails then I will get rid of it... Thank you

  • What about the internal slide rails and trigger pull??

I couldn't see the rails. Thanks!

  • @Sigfofosauer Thank you for the comment. To be honest with you I never thought about taking the gun apart this was my 1st video so I will besure to do that on the next video. As far as the trigger pull in SA (25-35) and DA (45-65) as per the owners manuel pg 13.IF YOU LIKE I CAN SEND YOU SOME PICTURES OF THE RAILS. the rails are a 2 piece rail sys one rail just rear of the safty and just forward of the hammer and 2nd rail is located just above the mem pad just fwd of the diss latch.

  • I was wondering how the trigger pull is on this? Their is complaints with the 24/7 having to long of a trigger pull. Do you feel this is the same with the PT 840? Thanks.

  • @SophieBear81 Hello To me it has a short Trigger pull do to the slack that is in it if you take up the slack it becomes a short trigger pull so that you may stage the trigger befor it pops off a shell. I hope that it was a help to you. Thank you

  • What did you use to polish the chamber?

  • great review cant wait to get my PT840!

  • I can't stand it when people don't rack the slide when clearing the weapon, I know you know its unloaded, but you should still always double check.

  • I have a pt 840 also. It will eat any brand of amp you load.

  • I only paid $352 for my PT845 on buds gun shop, but any way nice review I am planing to get this one next

  • @Jade75150 Jade I've put over 1500 rounds through my 840 at 7 and 10 yards it's dead on. now at 25+ mine shots about 4in low. since i've put so many rounds through it i've gotten very comfortable with it and have adapted to it. My best advice is shot often, practice safety, and learn your gun. 1 more thing is that I've never had a jam, misfire, or failure to eject. I love and carry mine.

  • @clayton758 is it accurate i heard taurus are not

  • Hey Im from Oregon..

  • @Clayton758 thanks for the review, 1 question though did yours not come with the interchangeable back straps/grips? If it was in the video I'm sorry for asking I might have just looked up or away at that spot, anyway great vid keep em coming :)
