Well done, good and faithful servants, and so sad that your church had to close. Hold the memory...

goodbye st. william's... i wish you would re-open

I correct myself-not 'Catholic' rather Calvinist. But Bourgeois did have his daughter baptized a Catholic interestingly enough.

You are right Philly-many faiths do borrow from each other though on sometimes hymns are adapted. The Christmas carol is perhaps one of the greatest examples-many Christian faiths utilize them in their services irregardless of who wrote them or what the composer's faith is or was-like "Silent Night".

I'm an Anglican but FYI the original melody to 'All People' is attributed to a Roman Catholic French composer-Louis Bourgeois. Per Wikepidia "Old 100th" or "Old Hundredth" is a hymn tune from Pseaumes Octante Trois de David (1551) (the second edition of the Genevan Psalter), and is one of the best known melodies in all Christian musical traditions.' The arrangement for the Queen's Coronation was by Ralph Vaughan Williams-an atheist.

Lovely job and very sad your church closed. That was a Rockin' version of "All People That On Earth Do Dwell".
Many faiths 'borrow' hymns from each other and there is nothing wrong with that. It's a compliment and not meant to be a slap in the face of 'the Pope crowd' as you call it. Curious for any Christian to think in such a way.

They have played the Ave Maria at Westminster Abbey and the Archbishop of Canterbury did not seem to mind one bit. Why should the Pope have a problem with beautiful songs whomever they were written for? The Catholics also have Methodist, Lutheran, and Baptists songs in their hymnals.
